Electrophysical Agents (EPAs)

Electrophysical agents (EPAs) are modalities that administer thermal, mechanical, or electrical energy to the patient to provide physiological effects and therapeutic benefits.

EPAs such as Interferential Therapy (IFT) can be used to help reduce pain by stimulation of muscles and nerves, and improving blood flow. This can often be used as an adjunct to other treatment and management techniques for better outcomes.
